My name is Cameron, and I have dedicated this Tumblr page to Cher, Enjoy! xCher is one of the biggest icons of the 20th and 21st centruy and is the only artist to reach number one on the Billboard charts in each of the previous six decades. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 1988 for 'Moonstruck' and has acted opposite stars such as: Meryl Streep, Jack Nicholson, Christina Aguilera, Susan Sarandon, Judi Dench, Nicolas Cage, Michelle Pfeiffer, Maggie Smith and many more. Her first rise to fame was with her first husband; Sonny Bono. They both shared their No.1 hit; 'I got you Babe' in 1965. In the 1970's the couple had their own T.V show; 'The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour' which was a huge success. After her divorce from Sonny she became a solo artist with songs such as: 'Gypsies Tramps and Thieves', 'Dark Lady' and 'Take Me Home'. Around this time she also had her own T.V show: 'The Cher Show' which was very popular in the U.S. In the early 1980's Cher sang along side Meat Loaf with 'Dead Ringer For Love' which became an instant Anthem. It then wasn't until the late 1980's and early 1990's when Cher returned with hits such as: 'If I could turn back time', 'I Found Someone' ,'Heart of Stone', 'The Shoop Shoop Song', and 'Save up all your tears'. Cher then proved that even women in their fifties can be successful in the music buisness with the song; 'Believe' which was the best selling song of 1999 and was the biggest-selling single ever by a female artist in the United Kingdom. In recent years Cher has starred in the musical 'Burlesque' which again was a huge success. She is currently working on a song with Lady GaGa Called: The Greatest Thing, which will be on her long awaited album which is due to hit the stores some time this year.
